about

As an extreme people pleaser, this song is my playful pushback and an unapologetic anthem. 'Worse' is about being a woman in the male-dominated music industry, and navigating through all the imposter syndrome, big egos, and finding my own place right in the middle of it. This goes out to all the sound guys who mansplained to me how to sing into a microphone, the pretentious self proclaimed "rockers" who made me feel like I wasn't enough for not caring about how to play a guitar or not nerding out over guitar pedals, and for all the times I felt like I was taken less seriously in music, by others or even by myself.

lyrics

I’m sick and tired of all the words
That don’t even come out mouths instead they run back and forth in my head
And what’s worse

I think I used to be afraid
But now I just don’t feel anything but blood that’s clinging to my veins
And what’s worse

Can’t even fucking play guitar
So what am I up here for?

I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t owe

I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t

I don’t really know who I am
Cause I’m just so busy wondering what everyone else is thinking
And what’s worse

I feel like I’m wasting my time
Always running and just stumbling into the next thing I’m doing
And what’s worse

I don’t give a shit about your gear
So what the hell am I doing here?

I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you

I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t

There are sounds coming out of your mouth
But I don’t even know what you’re talking about
Like it’s all about you,
Yeah it’s hard to believe
That you think that I owe you an apology

I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you anything
I don’t owe
I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
I don’t owe you
